Review of CSSs

The review of Centrally Sponsored Schemes/ Central Sector schemes relating to the Welfare of SCs/OBCs/Senior Citizens/persons with disabilities etc. is an on-going process.


The scheme of Grants-in-aid to Voluntary Organizations working for Scheduled Castes has been reviewed and revised with effect from 1.4.2014 by enhancing financial assistance by 100%. The cost norms in respect of the scheme of Integrated Programme for Older Persons (Senior Citizens) has also been revised w.e.f. 1.4.2015 and enhanced under different components ranging from 70 to 110%, which covers honorarium to staff, room rent, cost of medicines, food for running and maintenance of Old Age Homes, Day Care Centres, Mobile Medicare Units etc. Similarly, cost norms for the Central Scheme of Assistance for Prevention of Alcoholism and Drugs Abuse were revised w.e.f. 1.1.2015 and enhanced under different components ranging from 80 to 100% covering staff honorarium, room rent, cost of medicines and food for the inmates of the De-addiction Centres. The scheme of Assistance to Disabled persons for purchase/fitting of aids/appliance was also evaluated in December, 2012 following which it was revised w.e.f. 1.4.2014, to ensure better delivery of the scheme.
