The international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed/published today by Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas fell to US$ 106.12/per barrel (bbl) on 20.11.2013. This was lower than the price of US$ 106.71/bbl which prevailed on the previous trading day of 19.11.2013.
In rupee terms also, the crude oil price declined, though marginally, to Rs 6638.87 per bbl on 20.11.2013 as compared to Rs 6640.56 /bbl on 19.11.2013. This was due to fall in price in dollar terms despite rupee depreciation wiping out a part of the gains from decline in price in dollar terms. Rupee-dollar exchange rate on 20.11.2013 was Rs 62.56/US$ against Rs 62.23/bbl on previous trading day of 19.11.2013.
